Butterfly Certification Course (Citizen Science) 

Get ready for Sunday, May 24th at 1pm for a special Butterfly Certification Course with Dr. Delano Lewis. In this 2-hour certification course, participants will learn how to observe, identify, and record butterfly activity, gaining the skills needed to become a certified butterfly counter.

Get ready for Sunday, May 24th at 1pm for a special Butterfly Certification Course with Dr. Delano Lewis. In this 2-hour certification course, participants will learn how to observe, identify, and record butterfly activity, gaining the skills needed to become a certified butterfly counter. Whether you are new to citizen science, or looking to deepen your skills, this course provides valuable insight from a local scientist that specializes in moths and butterflies. 

This free event is open to both pre-registered participants and drop-ins, with 30 spots available. Following the certification course, guests are also invited to take part in the Buzzing Biodiversity Pollinator Citizen Science Training, where they will continue to learn by observing and identifying visiting pollinators within our garden.

Please note that for all of our events we require MINIMUM 48 HOURS NOTICE of a cancellation for a refund to be issued. If we are less than 48 hours away from an event and you are needing to cancel, please notify us so that we can offer your spot to someone else. Your payment for the event will then become a donation to Ellis Nature Centre. Thanks for your cooperation!
