On Saturday, July 25, 2026, we are excited to welcome back local artist Lauren Cowles for a creative and inspiring Barn Quilt Art Workshop!
Many in the Lacombe and Red Deer area may already recognize Lauren’s work from the beautiful murals she has created throughout Central Alberta. Lauren has a passion for bringing art into community spaces, and she is excited to share her skills and creativity with us through this workshop.
In this workshop, participants will paint their own 12” x 12” bird themed barn quilt painting. Barn quilts are a vibrant folk-art tradition that celebrate both rural heritage and artistic expression, and Lauren will guide participants through the process step-by-step. Whether you are an experienced painter or picking up the brush for the first time, this workshop is designed to be fun and accessible to all skill levels. Additionally, you will leave with a unique piece of artwork to display in your own home, or gift to someone special.
All supplies are provided. Spaces are limited so pre-registration is required.
