Join us on July 18 from 3:30-9:00pm for our annual Bats n’ Beers evening at Ellis!
We will be joined by Cory Olson, Coordinator of the Alberta Community Bat Program, who has spent years working in bat research and monitoring across western Canada. Earlier in the afternoon, Cary will be hosting a kid-friendly bat Q&A from 3:30-4:30pm, where young visitor can ask their burning bat questions, learn fun facts, and get a better understanding of these night-time creatures.
Then at 8:00pm, Cory will return for an evening presentation diving deeper into bat ecology, research, and the work being done across Alberta. At dusk, we’ll head outside where folks will have the opportunity to use various technology to see and hear the bats in the bat boxes on our site.
In between the Q&A and the evening presentation, feel free to stop by the Café, operated by The Moonshine Café, where you can grab something to eat or drink from the special event menu, including a wide selection of beer and wine.
All ages are welcome for this event, but please note that we won’t be able to view the bats until after dusk, so this will be a late night for small children. Adult tickets are only $10 each!
Adult tickets are $10 each. Family Tickets are $15 each and include admission for 2 adults and 2 children. Please email us at info@ellisnaturecentre.ca if you require additional children tickets.
So come by, grab some food, and learn something new!
