Moth Night

Join us for the first ever Moth Night! Where you and your fiends will get a unique experience to look at our local night time moths, right here at Ellis!

On Saturday, August 8th, 2026, we are excited to invite you to our first-ever Moth Night!

For this special event, we are welcoming Corrianne Brons and Dave Lowry, along with a variety of experts from the Lepidopterists’ Guide and the local community, for a late-night exploration of moths and other nocturnal insects. Throughout the evening, we will be attracting and observing a wide variety of species, giving participants the opportunity to get up close, investigate, and learn about the fascinating insects active after dark.

We will have 4–5 stations set up throughout the night where you can view the different species captured and learn more about them from our experts. Whether you’re looking to identify a species, ask your burning moth questions, or simply learn something new, our team will be there to help make your experience both educational and enjoyable.

All equipment will be provided. Just bring yourself, your curiosity, and a smile! Bathrooms, hot drinks, and light refreshments will also be available throughout the evening.

This event is open to both pre-registered and drop-in participants and admission is by donation (upon arrival).

Please note: This workshop includes walking over uneven terrain. Participants are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. While every effort will be made to ensure a safe experience, participants attend the outdoor portion of the workshop at their discretion.
