Day Theme: People of the Plains

Join us for our one day of our Indigenous knowledge themed Junior Naturalist day camp on July 15, from 9am-3pm! This camp will have an outdoors and hands-on focus. We’ll spend the day learning about the Indigenous people of the Plains.

The fee for the day is $30 and is open to children aged 7-12. Please note that we do allow drop-off beginning at 8:30am and pick-up until 3:30pm, but there will not be direct instruction at this time.

An email with the information you need to prepare your camper will be sent 1 week before the camp.

Make a dandelion salve, excellent for relieving sore muscles and joints, with plants harvested at Ellis Nature Centre. Make salve at the workshop and take more dandelion home to do it on your own!
Discover Alberta's bats with Cory Olsen from Alberta Bats. Learn, observe, and maybe meet a rehabilitated bat! Bring your curiosity and sense of adventure!
Paint your own birdhouse to look like birch trees under the guidance of ENC staff.
Join Cree Metis artist Shelly Rose May to make a medicine doll. These dolls are made with intention to help guide you.
