Dip your toes into the world of citizen science by joining Ellis Nature Centre’s BioBlitz on Saturday, May 30!
As part of the Alberta Biodiversity Challenge, we invite you to explore and document the birds, bugs, and plants that call out site home, while also contributing to citizen science through platforms such as iNaturalist and eBird.
This free event is open to all – no registration required – and features special guests including John Acorn, author of numerous bird and big identification guides. At noon, John will present on “Learning to Love Bugs”, followed by a guided walk where participants can observe and identify insects in there natural habitat.
This event is happening all day, with activities around the different species on a rotating schedule. Keep an eye on our website and social media for more details!
