Ellis Nature Centre is ready to jump right back into the school year with you, featuring two different school program options for the fall! Both programs are available September 9 to October 10th afternoons from 12-2pm. At this time, we are only accepting school groups of grade 5 and/or grade 6 students. Registration is open immediately!
Registration is now closed. Thanks for your interest!
Option 1: Wetland Exploration
Come with us into the wonderful world of wetlands! In this program we will talk about different types of wetlands; discover the plants, animals, and insects that call wetlands home; identify the various living and nonliving things that contribute to the wetland ecosystem; investigate water quality; and discuss watersheds and environmental issues affecting water quality and quantity.
Option 2: Tree Exploration
Calling all forest adventurers! Join us as we venture into the aspen parklands and identify the many tree species that contribute to the biodiversity of our local forests. Learn how to identify trees based on their bark, leaves, and needles. We’ll also discover the types of birds, animals, and insects which call the forest home.
